Poetry That Depicts You....

 At times, you come across some words/verses/poetry that just is so close to you what you want to say/feel. Like I said before, gestures/subtleties, they have their own value and worth. Just cos someone says, something and someone doesn't or loud enough, it doesn't make his/her affection/care/love/pain/anger any less. Depicting the same sentiment, I came across some beautiful lines penned by Abbas Qamar. 

Here are the lines in Hindi/Urdu first. 

Ashqon ko aarju-e-rihai hai, royie!

Aankhon ki ab isi mein bhalai hai, roiye!

Rona madavaa-e-ghume duniya, nahin  to kya,

Kam se kam ehtejaj-e-khudia hai, roiye!

Tasleem kar liya hai jo khud ko charaag-e-haq, 

Dunia kadam kadam pe sabai hai, roiye!

Khush hain toh phir musafir-e-dunia nahin hain aap,

Is dasht mein sirf aabla-pai hai, roiye.

Hum hain aseer-e-zabt, izazat nahin humein,

Ro paa rahe hain aap, badhai hai, roiye!


And it's translation in English, 

Tears have a desire to be set free, cry!

That's what is the best for eyes too, cry!

Cries are not probably the cure of the sorrow(madavaa-e-ghum) of this world, 

But still it's the protest to God(ehtejaj-e-khudia), cry!

When you have considered yourself lamp of truth(charaag-e-haq), 

Then remember this world is just like blows of wind(sabaai), cry!

If you are happy, you are not a passenger of this world,

In this jungle(dasht), there are only blisters(aabla-pai) that you are going to get on your feet,

I am bound by tolerance(aseer-e-zabt),

You can manage to cry, congrats, cry!

Just one word, deep!

I am a big fan of good poetry. I am not a poet myself  but where ever I do find anything good written, I try to collect and share it. In music, out of the most pure forms of it, one is Qawalli . This is that form of music which is sung by the people who are not mere singers but devotees of God. This form of music was not a part of commercial music industry some time ago but due to its magic, its now very common to hear this in almost every where. Despite its used now in the commercial music industry, still the original form of it with minimum music instruments and claps of the singers while singing is the most popular one and remains untouchable. Hello From Singapore….

Yes, I am at Singapore . Its been a while since I have come to this office where I am sitting right now, Suntec Tower 4 . The last time when I came here was in 2006. That was the first time when I came overseas for delivering a training program and this time again, the reason is same. Its so good to be back here and meet few persons whom I had met long time back and who actually taught me the few of the first lessons about the tactics of delivering a sessions. The session which I am handling right now is a VERY tough one and I am trying my best to keep things running smoothly. Hope all remains and goes fine. Its time to go for lunch. Been very long that I have seen food courts here at Suntec . Hope will find something to eat :-) .
