Oracle Docs, Everyone is invited....

Oracle Documentation is among the most useful and most popular resource for anyone who wants to learn the know-hows of Oracle Database.  The importance of its can be judged from a quote from world's leading Oracle expert Tom Kyte ," If you read and retain just 10% of Oracle Documentation, you will know more than 90% of the people around you. " Earlier  for the access of  documentation, OTN  was the first place to go as it was a must to have a valid OTN username and password to access docs.  Now the most prominent question you would ask that what's the big deal in it? After all its just a username and password that one has to remember and it takes less than 5 minutes to create a new account.  But sadly some of us are not that patient even! So now from now, Oracle's documentation is made accessible to public and everyone is invited to come and access it.  The earlier requirement of OTN membership has now been removed and moreover, Oracle has come up with a new Oracl

New additions in Favorites....

As you have already have noticed there is a list of my most visited websites and daily read blog maintained on my Personal APEX website  and on my Tripod website   . Besides these two places, I maintain it own my Blogger's Blog too. This includes which are not related to Oracle or anything related to IT even and also some very special and most popular sites of Oracle Database and Solaris Operating System.  I am always in search for the new and the best sites/blog which can be beneficial and useful for both the techno people as well as the those who have nothing to do with IT altogether.  So continuing the process, following are the latest editions in my favorite blog/site lists.  Hope you will find them useful for you.  Have a look: YouTube  - A very unique website which is having thousands of music videos hosted on it.  They come from all the artists, bands and music groups.  Great place to hear as well as see music. Marriage is one of the most beautiful things that can happen in anyone's life.  Having someone with you for the rest of life in all the moments, joys and sorrows gives an immense satisfaction beyond words. No no I am not yet married. Plans? No no plans are there too.  If you really ask me this is not something a must-do thing now for me.  Anyways I am not here to rant about my personal desire of getting married but this is about my closest friend who got engaged yesterday.  I am so much happy for him.  It just feels that it was yesterday only when we were kids and joined school together.  Been years since then, don't know where time has gone.  It feels so nice and a little strange to think about it now.  But that's the beauty of life isn't it?So as I was telling that my friend got engaged yesterday.  Both the guy and the gal were so much happy, were looking great together.  It was a great feeling to see someone so close tieing a knot.  That feeling cant be explained in w

Few words....Again!

As I said before when I wrote Few Words   and Once Again  that I am no where even near to be an artist and not trying to be too.  What ever is there in these lines, it is just what my heart says and feels about somethings. For me, it just giving words to my feelings so if there is some thing that is not right or doesn't make sense in an artistic way than just assume, it was never intended to be like that at the first place. Do let me know your comments for sure, good and bad, both are equally welcome.   I still remember the first day we met, I still remember the first words you said! I was alone, never met love ever before, You came, it felt as a wave met the shore! I felt contended, I felt complete, You were my every wish, everything I ever need! We started a journey  holding hands, Life became heaven as touched by a magic wand! There was happiness, there were only smiles, With you, endless dreams I set in my eyes!

Back to home....

And tired!Yes I came back from my assignment last morning. There were couple of things that happened on this trip.Good or bad?Well I cant say exactly good or bad about all of them, yes some were really good that's for sure.I shall tell about them just after a while. How did the assignment job go? Yes one of the most important and best things that happened was that my assignment went well. I came back smiling and left smiles on the faces of all too who were associated with it.   So all of you who are regular here, they know this that I left on 13th of this month. Well I have to go to Delhi coz from there only one can catch the flight, either domestic or international. So my flight was from Sahara Airlines, supposed to fly at 19:50pm. Ok I was there at the airport at around 18:00pm.So far good. Well did the check in and all that and I was there at the waiting room. There were couple of other passengers there too going with me to Hyderabad. Time was coming nearer but there was nothing

After so long....

Some times it happens that you like something/someone so much and just can't live without that thing/person.  It can be anything.  It doesn't matter that it has to be a person only, it can be a song/place/piece of jewelry/anything & everything.  It happens with all of us isn't it? I am sure there must be something/someone without which/whom you too can't live without.  If you don't have yet anyone/anything which is having this special place in your heart/life than just wait.  Very soon it will come to you  coz you never know what you were missing till it doesn't come to you and you never realize what you have lost till the time it already has left you.  If you don't have anyone yet, just wait and watch coz you will come to know only when he/she would  be in front of you to amaze you.  Trust me its going to happen and it will.   Yes we all have or once had something/someone which we liked the most/loved so much.  But its not a must that what we love/like

Blog moved, Blog added,....

There are a lot of bloggers who have moved from Blogger   to WordPress  and to some other sites too like Serendipity. Tim Hall, Doug Burns are just a few to name. Well I do have  my own replica WordPress blog which goes along with  my Blogger's blog . The latest move which I forgot to update in my blogs and my Tripod web site was of Pete Scott's blog.  Earlier it was on Blogger   but now its on WordPress . Well I must say that the new home is much better looking and nice. The only problem with the changing homes is that one has to constantly update their favorite links all the time but if you really like a particular blog/site than this much effort is not a very big deal :-).   PS:   I have added another blog on my favorite list.  Its the first blog that I have added which is completely about Solaris and is managed by  a Solaris veteran for his entire career. The blog is from Mike and is named as Mike's Solaris blog . Looks interesting. Have a read.

Bloglines,Qumana and Venom....

If you are thinking I am going to use some Alien language,no that's not the case here :-). I am going to share something which can be helpful if you read and write blog like me and then my views about a movie, yes Venom is the name of a movie.   There are times when we get hooked to a lot of  blogs and its not easy to cope up with all of them to find out the new enteries.Surely you  can subscribe with the RSS feeds on FireFox and Opera but what about when you would leave your desktop and would be traveling? What about when you have to reinstall the operating system and also your browsers? Would be a problem isn't it?So here is something which can be useful for you. Bloglines is an online feed management portal which takes care of the latest entries on your favorite blogs and would let you know how many new posts are there which you have missed since you last visited them.  Not just the blogs but also it can also take care of your favorite News, Comics, Email Newsletters too.

Finished blog reading with MetaBlog....

As you know that I was travelling so I coulnt catch up with my favorite blogs.I just finished all today.Wow!!There was alot that happened when   I wasnt around. But I managed to come along with all I guess :-).   About almost year and half ago, when I first started reading blogs, Tom Kyte's blog  was the first one which I read.Since then the list is growing continously. I had always used the Blog list of Tom's only to read my favorite ones ( leaving those which I dont read). Then Tom felt that list is just too long to maintain and it was a pain to modify the tempelate and republish the  entire blog.So now there is a "metablog" which has a complete list of the favorite blogs of mine.A little indirect way but still its ok :-).

I am BACK!!!

After 15 days of absence,I am back!Alrite so now I would tell where I was?Was waiting to know is it:-)?I was in Hyderabad for a training assignment.  I wont disclose the name of the company for whom I undertook this training assignment of 10G SQL and Pl/SQL.But I can surely tell you that its one of the biggest and best IT firms in the world and definitely one of the top 10,Fortune 500 companies.  Sounds exciting isn't it?Well I was really very excited too when I got the news that I am selected.  But with excitement, there was a huge pressure too that everything must went well and nothing unwanted must happen.  Thanks to the wishes of my nears and dears, nothing like that happened and everything went like a breeze.  Flights were ok too and so was the weather over there.  Its really really hot over here in North, especially in my city with the temperature touching 45 degrees but over there in Hyderabad,it was constantly 25 degrees with no humidity and pours of rain.   Here are all the p

Going offline for few days....

I have a pretty important training assignment to take upon.So for the next few days,I shall be offline.Hope and wish everything goes fine and smooth.Fingers crossed! Cheers. Aman....

156 Run commands for Windows XP....

Back in 80's, computers to be used, dominated by the Unix operating system. It was just the good-old Command Line Interface or CLI mode which was available.Time changed, came 1995, Microsoft presened Windows-95 and BOOM! It changed the way forever for generations for using computers.Instead of that boring , dark and dull, black and white, CLI, we became addicted to new, easy to use than ever, nice colored,menu-drive GUI or Graphic User Interface for forever. Not a bad thing in anyways.Dont get me wrong alrite :-)!.   We have Windows now almost everywhere. More than 90% of word's desktops and nearly the same number of notebooks are dominated by the Windows operating system. By the time, there are some other players too in the market which boast of the same capability which Windows has but lets not get into that arguement over here now. There are no-doubt millions of users who like GUI interface than anything else but still there are some who still like to type a

Music review, Ahista Ahista,Krrish,K.A.N.K....

After quiet a while there is some good music out there in movies.Normally its not very common that motion picture tracks are upto that quality in the terms of melody, lyrics. But recently, Fanaa proved to be a very good album. There are so many movie tracks which get released every year but very few are able to grab some sort of attention. Here are 3 which I liked. My take on all these is:   Ahista Ahista Being a Punjabi, Sufi music is something which I always liked and loved. Its so much difficult to sing Sufiana music.Oh I am sorry Sufi is an Urdu word. Sufiana music is the music which is devoted to God.So its so much deep from every aspect of music,be it singing, music, lyrics. Ahista Ahista's music director ,Himesh Reshamiya tried to create the same sort of music with this motion picture. No harm in being creative, but being too much confident on yourself sometimes fails to create that impact which it has.Sufiana mus

My Blog journey....

There is always that one doesn't know about something and than somehow he/she is introduced to it and he/she finds himself/herself completely hooked to it.  It happens to most of us on so many times.  Same happened with me too before I started even reading blogs, forget about writing my own.   I had heard about this concept called, Blogging for so long and so many times but I never bothered to check what exactly it was all about and what one has to do with it.  Ok you can call me whatever you like but that's the truth.  So despite having an idea about this bloging concept,I still was an alien to it for quite a time.   Then, one fine day,Tom Kyte introduced his blog  in addition to AskTom.oracle.com .This blog was supposed to be at a place for him for sharing and discussing things/matters/experiences which were mostly non-technical and the content was way more light and cool as compared to AskTom.Well I started reading it and I even dnt know when I got completely hooked from it.

Blog Kidnapping....

Yesterday when I tried to read Doug Burns blog,I was shocked to see that the link didnt take me to his blog but to some other blog which had no entry in it and it of some unknown person.I tried to figure out for one minute what it was.Well I couldnt find out anything. Then on Tom Kyte's blog,I found that Doug Burn's blog was kidnapped .Needless to say that I was shocked to see that.Doug has shifted his blog to here and luckily for all of us,he took the backup of the entire earlier blog so his new blog has all the old enteries with the comments too.But it provoked a question,"What if the same happens to me?".   In internet world, its not a big thing to happen. It happens and doesnt matter how much one tries, one have to accept that we have no apparent control over it.All we can do is to be take precautions and as we say in our Database world, take a backup of all the data which is important for us.That backup must be capable enough to put us back on the track in the case of

Secrets about Guys which Gals Must know....

While stumbling upon internet once,I came across this. These are some hidden facts which gals dnt know about gals. There are alot of shades in guys and they can be equally complex if not more when compared with the gals.I found it really interesting so thought would share with you all.The source is not working anymore so I am putting up everything right here.Have a read:   Guys don’t actually look after good-looking girls. They prefer neat and presentable girls.   Guys hate flirts. A guy can like you for a minute, and then forget you afterwards. When a guy says he doesn’t understand you, it simply means you’re not thinking the way he is. “Are you doing something?” or “Have you eaten already?” are the first usual questions a guy asks   on the phone just to get out from stammering. Guys may be flirting around all day but before they go to sleep, they always think about the girl they truly care about. When a guy really likes you, he’ll disregard all you

FireFox with its extensions that I use....

When I started learning and using computers, as like all the newbies, I too started with Windows. Than it was the Internet which came into existence great invention which revolutionized the technology world. With the invention of Internet, there came the browsers with Netscape being the first one. With that there came "war of browsers" with Microsoft fighting with its browser, Internet Explorer with Netscape to grab the biggest bite. Needless to say, Microsoft did win and its Internet Explorer being the most popular browser.   IE did win the top spot but it always lacked in some of the most important aspects, with Security being on the top. With the enhancement of technology and with more and more techno savvy guys coming in and exploring more deeper layers,IE became the most favourite pathway for the hackers. There was an immediate need for something which could give a better option and if not replace, give a choice between Internet Explorer. Well, Firefox came just in time
