Back in 80's, computers to be used, dominated by the Unix operating system. It was just the good-old Command Line Interface or CLI mode which was available.Time changed, came 1995, Microsoft presened Windows-95 and BOOM! It changed the way forever for generations for using computers.Instead of that boring , dark and dull, black and white, CLI, we became addicted to new,easy to use than ever,nice colored,menu-drive GUI or Graphic User Interface for forever.Not a bad thing in anyways.Dont get me wrong alrite :-)!.   We have Windows now almost everywhere. More than 90% of word's desktops and nearly the same number of notebooks are dominated by the Windows operating system. By the time, there are some other players too in the market which boast of the same capability which Windows has but lets not get into that arguement over here now. After quiet a while there is some good music out there in movies.Normally its not very common that motion picture tracks are upto that quality in the terms of melody,lyrics.But recently, Fanaa proved to be a very good album.There are so many movie tracks which get released every year but very few are able to grab some sort of attention.Here are 3 which I liked.My take on all these is:   Ahista Ahista Being a Punjabi, Sufi music is something which I always liked and loved.Its so much difficult to sing Sufiana music.Oh I am sorry Sufi is an Urdu word. Sufiana music is the music which is devoted to God.So its so much deep from every aspect of music,be it singing,music,lyrics. Yesterday when I tried to read Doug Burns blog,I was shocked to see that the link didnt take me to his blog but to some other blog which had no entry in it and it of some unknown person.I tried to figure out for one minute what it was.Well I couldnt find out anything.Then on Tom Kyte's blog,I found that Doug Burn's blog was kidnapped .Needless to say that I was shocked to see that.Doug has shifted his blog to here and luckily for all of us,he took the backup of the entire earlier blog so his new blog has all the old enteries with the comments too.But it provoked a question,"What if the same happens to me?".   In internet world,its not a big thing to happen.It happens and doesnt matter how much one tries,one have to accept that we have no apparent control over it.All we can do is to be take precautions and as we say in our Database world,take a backup of all the data which is important for us.That backup must be capable enough to put us back on the track in the case of...

When I started learning and using computers, as like all the newbies, I too started with Windows. Than it was the Internet which came into existence great invention which revolutionized the technology world. With the invention of Internet, there came the browsers with Netscape being the first one. With that there came "war of browsers" with Microsoft fighting with its browser, Internet Explorer with Netscape to grab the biggest bite. Needless to say, Microsoft did win and its Internet Explorer being the most popular browser.   IE did win the top spot but it always lacked in some of the most important aspects, with Security being on the top. With the enhancement of technology and with more and more techno savvy guys coming in and exploring more deeper layers,IE became the most favourite pathway for the hackers. In an  earlier blog   of mine, I told you about my friend Raman and Shuchi who got married.It was a love marriage and more over an inter-caste one.It was great to see that the couple stood with each other and made everything possible.They didnt let caste-creed come in between their love and fulfilled the promise that they gave to each other.   On this Sunday, we organzied the Reception party for them.It was organized at Casala Le Baron Palace here in Ludhiana.It was great.With about 1000+ guests including all of the relatives,nears and dears of Raman,all of the friends it was a memorable night.We all had a great time and enjoyed the company of the friends,met some whom we couldnt meet in the recent times,thanx to our busy daily lives.Everything went so very well.We got back at about 2am,tired but with a feeling of satisfaction and with best wishes for the newly wed couple for the success and happiness in this new phase of life.  

There are a couple of times when there is a need to remotely control the servers,machines or even home pcs too.There are a couple of options available with VNC,NetMeeting etc. etc. but they all comes with a price that one has to download,install and configure their respective binaries to complete the installation and finally make it to work.Well its not complicated but still there are issues with different binaries for different platforms and then their installation instructions and all that or its me being lazy :-). My younger sister is a trained beautician and skin and make-up expert!Her company organized a "Best Employee and Technician" award ceremony this Monday.  It was organized to honor the best person and technician in the company whose efforts and dedication outstand the rest all.Sis is with this company from just few years.  Despite her being still a junior,she managed to beat all the others and grabbed this award for her constant excellent record.  With this she has proved that there is nothing like a senior or a junior in an organization.  What matters the most and is required for one to outshine and get noticed is hard-work,dedication and a deep interest in that job which you are doing.  Needless to mention that I am really glad and proud on her!I just hope  and wish that she manages to get this award each and every year,proving that she is the "Best among the BESTS"!Congrats sis!

I watched Shrek 2  yesterday.  I saw the first part about an year ago.  In one word,EXCELLENT!Story line,characterization,animation,everything was great.  I really like cartoons and cartoon flicks.  There are not many good movies which came out and managed to be this much successful.  This movie is a must watch if you are like me who watch cartoons and enjoy them.  Story is carried ahead from the last movie where our hero,Shrek now has to met with his wife,Princess Fiona's parents which leads to problems,disagreements between him and Fiona's parents coz he is an ogre and no one wants an ogre for their daughters!How Shrek take it as a challenge and does what any real lover will do to be the best person for their loved ones,to make them smile and get their undivided love!Really a very nice plot!Spare some time to have a sneak peak of the movie.  I am sure you will like it.

In one of my last blogs,I talked about one of my friend who and his beloved.Both were very keen to get married.Everything was going fine but somehow things got a bit shaky.Well,after a little help from all of us,finally they got married on this Wednesday.My heartiest wishes to Both Raman and Shuchi.Reception is supposed to be in the next week.I shall post the pictures later.A great feeling is there that both stood for each other in such a severe and difficult time and didnt leave each other alone.I have seen most of the people leaving their loved ones alone and backing off in these kind of times (and sometimes way before when nothing has happened even),leaving their love to suffer alone.But I am glad that Raman and his girl didnt do this and set a great example.My best wishes and heartiest congrats to both of them and their families.

Blue Baby is back again.... It is said that a picture is worth a thousand words.Its certainly true.I am not having a very good "photogenic" face and neither do I like to have too many snaps of mine.The biggest problem with me is that I forgot where did I store once I either scan them or get them from my mobile.If you are like me than you can definitely understand how much difficult it can be when you have to locate a picture of yours but you cant seem to find it anywhere.   So let me introduce to you Picasa , I must say that Google has really done a very good job with it.This tool scans your whole machine and finds out all the pictures of all the extensions.After finding them,it arranges all those pictures in their respective folders whose names are based on the creation date of the pictures.   In addition of scanning and arranging your pictures for you,Picasa does a whole lot more stuff.You can give numerous effects to your snaps,blog them directly on your BlogSpot blog,make a slideshow of all the pict...

I saw Kung Fu Hustle today.This movie is starring Stephen Chow in the lead role as well as the director and producer of the movie with Lam Tze Chung, Yuen Wah, Yuen Qiu, Chan Kwok Kwan. KungFu Hustle is one of those Martial Arts movies which tell you about that ancient and hidden kung Fu techniques which you have neither heard nor ever seen before. No doubt,the movie is filled with very  ferocious action scenes with fighters flying around and punches making holes in the floors and walls but the fight choregraphy and the wire action sequences are done brilliantly by Yuen Wo Ping and Sammo Hung. The movie has a nice but small romantic touch of the hero Stephen with a mute gal which is his childhood friend but was lost. The main villain is the  Beast (Leung Siu Lung) which  kills peopple just to find out if they are better than him or not?Very strong and very cruel!
